In Michigan, your sustainability objectives are well within grasp with a range of incentives
Indiana Michigan Power is offering a $500 rebate for L2 chargers to small commercial businesses, alongside a discounted off-peak charging rate, marking a 40% saving from the standard rate. For commercial and industrial properties and multi-unit dwellings, there is a $250 incentive available per port for eligible L2 chargers.
Consumers Energy’s Community EV Charging Rebate promises up to $7,500 in rebates for municipal customers who install Level 2 chargers in parking lots or roadside locations, servicing multi-family residence overnight charging needs within a block’s radius.
Additionally, the PowerMIFleet program by Consumers Energy presents rebates of up to $5,000 for each Level 2 Charge Port (capped at 10 per site), ascending up to $35,000 for non-public DC Fast Chargers and a maximum of $70,000 for public-use DC Fast Chargers.
EGLE’s Charge Up Michigan program extends grants reaching $70,000 to support the installation of EV fast chargers. Both public and private entities are eligible to apply for this grant under the specified RFP by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
Last but not least, the Lake Michigan Circuit initiative, backed by EGLE, focuses on enhancing the EV infrastructure along Lake Michigan to boost coastal tourism. Grants cover either 33.3% of the total cost or match the electric utility’s contribution, providing up to $5,000 for level 2 chargers or $70,000 for DC fast chargers, exclusively for direct expenses associated with the charging infrastructure’s design, construction, operation, and upkeep. The application period closes on December 4, 2023.
